ABOUT THE STUDIO

Our new studio space is located at 771 Coney Island Ave, second floor.

The old studio space at 1019a Cortelyou Rd. will host our fabulous bodyworkers Caroline Feig ( PT), Jessica Winograd (Massage) and Rachel Casiano ( Acupuncture) . Springboard, Barre, Taichi and Pre- and Post-natal classes also take place at this location.

We are the only fully equipped Pilates studio in the neighborhood and are happy to serve people of all ages, fitness levels and walks of life. Our clients range in age from 0 to 97!

The studio offers classes for up to nine people which allows our teachers to give extra attention to your alignment, keep everyone focused for an optimal workout and it creates an environment to feel save and comfortable while moving. All instructors were certified at well regarded studio such as Ellie Herman Pilates, Stott or Polestar to name a few. They all have developed their own style thats fits within the framework of Pilates on Cortelyou.

We believe Pilates should be available to everyone and offer classes at many different price points.

Classes $40. Privates $95-$140. Semi-privates $55-$70/per person. We regularly offer specials and ongoing discounts.

Home visits are an option for the elderly and those unable to visit our studio for an additional travel fee.

All classes are 50min/hr.

A 24hr cancellation is required for classes and Private/Semi-private sessions for a full refund.

Sorry NO exceptions.

About PILATES

PILATES focuses on core work, alignment, strengthening, stretching, coordination and balance.

Correct alignment will help access proper muscle engagement and anatomically correct movement.

Breathing and focus in coordination with controlled movements differentiates PILATES from many other exercises and lets you discover new muscles and muscles groups while having a fun workout.

In PILATES the core is referred to as “the powerhouse.”  Core engagement is essential in every exercise to assure a safe and efficient workout.

PILATES is often practiced after injuries  ( after or while they have been attended by a PT) because it can be a low impact workout with a strong focus on alignment.

Back issues can see improvement due to the focus on the core and learning proper ways to use ones body without adding strain to tender backs.

However it can also just be a fun, save workout in private sessions, with neighbors, friends or family in group classes. You can book small private groups.
